Accredited by the Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI), this blue-water paradise lets novices and experts alike plumb the turquoise depths for a chance to experience some of the best dive sites in the world.
The PADI Dive Centre at The Jalousie Plantation, Sugar Beach is just feet away from the crystal waters of Anse des Pitons and the protected underwater park and National Marine Reserve that stretch along the base of the Petit Piton to the north and the Gros Piton to the south.
With an abundance and diversity of marine life, divers from beginners to advanced will find plenty to fill their log books – from easy reef dives to challenging drift dives and drop-offs.
Dive Jalousie offers divers the chance to explore the underwater menagerie in a range of different dive packages. There are 11 exciting dives, including “Superman’s Flight”, a well-known drift dive around the base of Petit Piton.
Marine Park fees are not included and are charged at a rate of US$7 per day, or at the annual rate of US$20.

Pick of the Top Spots
- Superman’s Flight (Petit Piton): This drift dive takes its name from the movie Superman II which was filmed right in Anse des Pitons. This is a gently sloping dive with an abundance of marine life starting at a depth of about 15ft and continuing on to well over 100ft. Hawkes Bill and Green turtles can be seen on almost every dive. Sea horses, frog fish, jacks of every variety, sponges in a range of colors, soft and hard corals are also in abundance. More suitable for advanced divers due to the strong currents.
- Miguel’s Drift (Southern side of Gros Piton): This is a haven for turtles. As many as 12 turtles have been seen on a single dive. Frogfish, schooling jacks, southern sennets and many other species of fish can be seen along with sponges, soft and hard corals in pristine condition. Suitable for all levels except when current is strong.
- Wreck of the Lesleen-M (Anse Cochon): This wreck was sunk by the Fisheries Department in Anse Cochon to form an artificial reef in August 1986. It is actually the longest boat trip Jalousie divers will take (25 minutes). The wreck lies in 67 feet of water at the stern, and 50 feet at the bow. The top deck sits at about 35 feet beneath the surface so beginners can also experience the thrill of wreck diving. There are plenty of fish, and soft and hard corals attached (especially on the port side). Turtles, schooling jacks and other marine life can be seen.
- Keyhole Pinnacles (North of Soufriere Bay): This is a unique dive because the underwater pinnacles are almost identical to the twin peaks of the Pitons but on a smaller scale. The pinnacles sit about 10 ft from the surface down to about 80 ft. There are turtles, sea horses, frog fish, tarpon and many other fish species. Beginners to advanced divers can enjoy this dive. Sometimes there can be a current present.
- Piton Wall (Off Anse des Pitons on Petit Piton): This vertical drop-off is great for divers who like heading into the abyss. The dive starts a little ahead of the drop-off zone at 25 feet then plunges to 600 feet and beyond. There are huge Green and Hawkes Bill turtles. Sting rays, Southern and Eagle Rays) can also be seen on this dive. The wall is covered with black coral, sea whips, sponges, lobsters and a variety of other marine life.
